Construction Technology

Construction Technology is for students who want to work in construction-related occupations. Students receive training in multiple aspects of the construction process. Included in this course are hands-on experiences as well as classroom content related to construction project planning and management.

Introduction to Construction (1 Hour) (C6033)

Note: Can be taken by 9th graders with counselor’s permission

Introduction to Construction is a course that will paint a broad brush of the Industry itself and focus on two tracts. The first tract will involve learning about the different arenas of the Industry (Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Public Works) and how they work and interrelate with one another to make our economy grow and provide the backbone to our country and culture.

The second track will be focused on a basic understanding and use of construction tools, (in the field), the definition of major crafts and trades, and the other team players that need to work together to build a project.

Construction Technology is for students who want to work in construction related occupations. Students receive training in multiple aspects of the construction process. Included in this course are hands on experiences as well as classroom content related to construction project planning and management, trade skills, and safety. Students will have the opportunity to earn their OSHA 10 safety certification.
